Shannon Straub - Trainer

We find ourselves very privileged to have Shannon Straub instructing students and training horses at our barn. She joined our team in 2009. Shannon comes to us with 20+ years experience. Shannon has only been here in NC for 3 years. She grew up in New Hampshire and rode the "A" Circuit throughout High School. As she has various wins and accomplishments through her career, her highlights include having the top ranked Hunter Pony in NJ as well as the top Pre-Children's Equitation Rider for two years. One of her Hunters was ranked 5th in NJ in the Suitable Hunters. She was a "Good Hands Equitation Medal" Winner and a National Champion in 1994. She studied at UMASS and Meredith Manor Graduate, there she held a Major in "Riding Master III Jumper" and Dressage Minor. She became Meredith Manor "Certified Riding Instructor” and also studied in “Equine Ultrasound". After working at various top facilities that include Market St. (Anne Kurskinski), On Coruse (Katie Moriarty), and Grand Pre Farm, she relocated for family reasons and comes to us here in North Carolina. She has been busy learning the structure of our local horse community and circuits. Shannon will always ride and be competitive! She is dedicated in her career as a professional rider, instructor and horse trainer. She wants to take her students as far as they wish to go and then convince them they can go further.
